Can antibiotics change your stools...?

It might be a little gross, but.... I've been taking Erythromycin (250mg TID) for about the past six weeks and EVERY stool I have is just like little rabbit pellets (type I stool). It's a bit uncomfortable and I'm just wondering if the antibiotics could be the cause (for killing off the healthy flora) or if it's more likely something else...?

Has anyone else had a similar experience (or know anything about it)...??

Thanks!

Update:

btw: the stools are often dark (but not black), mucous-y and contain specks of bright red blood, but I'd imagine that's because of how difficult they are to pass.

(Apologies for being descriptive... just looking for answers.)

not sure how you were going before taking the Erythromycin? But yes it's a known fact that antibiotics disrupt the bacteria in the digestive and intestinal areas...ask your pharmacist if you have further questions
