what happens if you don't open your mouth for an extended period of time?

say perhaps a month or a year with your mouth closed and your teeth touching?

also if you can't come up with a serious answer then i suggest you try the question out on yourself..

Assuming you are fed through an IV (so you don't starve) i'd say just very, very bad breath. If you are unconcious there is a strong chance the saliva flow will be much less so you could also have dry mouth resulting in a field day in bacteria and possible cavities (even if you dont eat in a day you still need to brush your teeth)

You could try coming up with a serious question! If you don't open your mouth you would starve to death unless you are being fed intravenously. There is also the cleaning issues. See my answer to 'Bleeding Gums' question.

    Your mouth will grow closed.
