Melee- Warhammer. Not the ones seen in fantasy movies, but the ones used during the Renaissance. Warhammers were specifically designed to penetrate through armor that swords and axes could not. They can also break swords. One blow would kill a zombie and they are useful for survival. Remeber, surviving the zombie apocalypse is about survival first, killing zombies should be one of your last priorities. You can use it to breach through structures, locked buildings, breaking through walls, digging, ice picking, and they don't need sharpening.

Long Range - Ruger 10/22. If I was specifically fighing zombies, I would use a 22lr rifle. As I mentioned before, survival is the first priority, not killing zombies. 22lr ammuniton is lightweight, you can carry thousands of rounds compared to that other calibers. They cost around three to four cents a round so you can buy boxes of 500 rounds for around $20. For other calibers used in guns like Ar15s or Ak47s, it would cost you around $200 for 7.62x39 to $500 for .223 for the same amount. They don't make alot of noise and they can be used for hunting small and medium game.

Melee- Some kind of spear or halberd. Keep them back, can't let them get too close. Hard for masses and close quarters, but not many people would choose a spear so I could count on someone else having a closer-range melee weapon to use.

Long-range- Probably a smaller pistol, a bow, or a shotgun (possibly sawed-off to use more easily in close quarters). A pistol is small and easy to carry and draw, and can be used in most situations. A bow is much quieter and you can make ammo out of wood if you really need it. A shotgun is short-range but packs a punch.
