Did you know CT has an "Assault Weapon" ban and the shooters AR-15 was ban compliant?

http://reason.com/blog/2012/12/17/how-do%E2%80%A6

This site explains it pretty well but I'll go ahead and elaborate. After the Federal assault weapon ban expired many states continued it. The gun the shooter used was 100% legal. If there is a ban manufacturers merely have to modify the gun a little bit to make it legal again. The accessories ( bayonet lug, telescoping stock, and pistol grip) is all that seperates an "Assault weapon" from a hunting weapon.

Here are some examples of ban compliant AR-15's by bushmaster

Shhh! You can't use facts against liberals, they hate that! It was an evil machine gun! The mainstream media said so!

Yeah, the people who wrote the law didn't have a clear idea of weapons. They would have been better off by banning any semi-automatic rifle that looked like a military assault rifle. Sometimes vague is better.

I would presume the NRA were complicit in making the loopholes in the law.

It's the Rambo Effect that makes a person holding one of these rifles feel omnipotent and invulnerable. If it is a nut holding the gun, you have a serious problem.

Columbine also happened during the last assault weapons ban from 1994-2004.

Goes to show that Connecticut's gun laws are not strict enough, and neither are the US government's gun laws. Stricter gun laws written without being weakened by the gun manufacturer's lobbyists should improve matters.

All of the additional regulations and restrictions that Connecticut already has obviously failed to protect those children. Yet they are still being haled today as a solution to our problems.

you don't need to fire of f 30rounds in 5 seconds to kill a deer and if you do then I can guarantee the others out there hunting wouldn't want you anywhere near them....

I also heard that the AR15 was left in the car, and he did all the damage without it.

Yes, but don't use facts and logic when debating a liberal. They don't understand.
