What should I buy my friend for Christmas?

She is my best friend and has been for many years. I'm going to be leaving very soon though (enlisted) and wont be seeing her for a long time. I wanted to get her something special. I was thinking maybe an iPod or something. I don't feel like giving her a gift card since that doesn't really feel like a gift. Any ideas?

Things about her:

She's half japanese and half white.

She has a car.

She loves music (although her taste differs from mine so I can't specify what type exactly.)

Is a college student.

Likes reading, but not as much as I do.

She plays the guitar, but I don't think she's touched hers for awhile.

Loves seeing movies.

And that's about all I can think of at the moment..
