Why arent there more female farmers?

Seems it is sexist if most people who cook and prepare the food are women

Should be sexist if its mostly men who are growing the food.

I challenge all men to call sexism. If you meet a male farmer you must ridicule him for holding to sexist stereotypes. We are men! Hear us roar!

Update:

Actually Oki, you are incorrect lots of people to them they had to be the one to grow the food because they are a man, just women are told they have to cook it because they are a woman.

Update 2:

Adoni, sources please. I should also add that the majority of men cook their own food.

Whoever said theyve never heard a woman say its sexist to cook is lucky

Update 3:

Adoni, sources please. I should also add that the majority of men cook their own food.

Whoever said theyve never heard a woman say its sexist to cook is lucky

Update 4:

Tea, expecting one gender to cook is sexist, surely an enlightened person such as youself isnt promoting sexism.

And Oki, stop ranting and perhaps I will read your temper tantrum of a post

Update 5:

Tea, the majority of men already cook, prepare, and/or buy their own food and have for quite some time, so mission accomplished there.

Update 6:

And if you seriously want me too cook your food i need food, not just an oven mitt, so get to work, ill be watching Oprah while i wait, my skill with preparing frozen dinners is amazing

Update 7:

I said IF most people who cook food are women, I was referring to a previous question that made this claim as true. and they also claimed it was sexist, in addition to claiming it true

Update 8:

And I am a farmer(not a pro, i just grow enough for myself and a tiny bit to sell)

I lived in an area with lots of farms and I've noticed both men and women working in the fields (doing the dirty work, planting and picking the produce out of the ground).

There aren't more female farmers because women avoid hard work. Its not only farming its construction work, sanitation jobs etc. etc. Women only do cushy jobs! As for Adoni's bogus data which leads anyone reading it to believe that all food is grown by women which is just feminist propaganda masquerading as information. Note how all the info deliberately excludes men to paint a biased picture. Several organizations including the UN have been infected by feminism. These organizations have been using false data to direct most of the worlds aid to women only and exclude men. They have come up with a term for this discrimination called The Girl Effect which claims that investing aid in women is better than giving aid to everyone equally. These documents are in line with this sexist agenda. The data leads us to believe that men do no work and women are the ones doing everything. So Adoni wants us to believe that African men would rather starve than do any actual work while these heroic women slave away all day long. Clearly Adoni has ignored the fact that these women must suck at farming because Africans are always starving and dying by the thousands. Maybe if the men farmed based on his idiotic "data" there would be less starvation. Feminism has been notorious for presenting fasle data and these are just more examples.

Yeah, that is sexist. Women should make their husbands do all the cooking from now on. I think you should start a petition.

    Edit:

Tell that to the farmers! I'm incensed by this outrage! We've got to get men cooking right away! I have a cookbook and an oven mitt for you right here. I'll be on the couch eating a sandwich if you have any questions. Oh, and turn the gas on before trying to light the burner. It works better that way.

    Edit:

Wait now I'm confused. First you said "Seems it is sexist if most people who cook and prepare the food are women"...but now you're saying "Tea, the majority of men already cook, prepare, and/or buy their own food and have for quite some time."

If most people who prepare the food are women, then how could it also be true that most men cook and prepare their own food? Which one is it? I thought we had a sexism crisis on our hands, but now I don't know what to believe. I think it must be a conspiracy. Let's blame President Bush!

    Edit:

Just go find a guy. They're all farmers. They'll have food for you. We girls don't grow food, we just cook it.

    Edit:

The plot thickens! Link please. :)

    Edit:

If you're a farmer then why did you tell me to go get you some food. See, I knew all men were farmers. So what do you have growing right now or is it winter where you live? We're able to grow year round where I live. We're just growing herbs right now, though.

Oki, not everyone can afford college. So you're flat wrong to say we all have a choice. I was emancipated and had noone to cosign loans for me. Had to do time in the military to afford it. Graduated high school at 16, joined at 17.

I didn't have anything when I went in. I was set up to fail from the start.

There are less female farmers because farming is hard work, and the majprity of women prefer minimal work for their money. What is sad is how hard farmers work and you have women working short hours doing barely any work making three times as much as farmers.

Most women don't want to be farmers thats why. Only 2 to 3 % of the population are farmers so its not a huge field.

My Mom was a farmer. And they did traditional farming in mountains, they didn't even had modern machineries.

In our culture, women are expected to work in farms even after marriage. In fact, women's worth for marriage is decided by how much they can work. Even housework. So yeah, check your facts. Just because women weren't allowed to work in farms, doesn't mean they can't. And my mom even cooks, sew, crochet, do embroidery. Right now she is making a cushion cover.

Farms tend to be family businesses that are passed down the male line, so most farmers are men. Of course, to achieve this, there also has to be the ever-popular "farmer's wife" who traditionally takes on certain roles of her own on the farm. It's division of labour in its purest form. Take from this what you will

Fact: women are physically weaker than men

Fact: farming is a physically demanding job

  • no one told those men to be farmers... they could have gone to college if they wanted. Free will. No ones making you do jack. that's just like asking why do women have to wear make up? because they chose to do so. this question is bogus and makes you look retarded....

you know what you must have grown up in a farmers family or something. you are like a male version of a feminist. the thing is, men were the ones hunting or farming while women have cooked yes you are right. you are pretty much saying you want a womens role and want women to do mens work. you are agreeing with feminism. the thing women cant change is us bearing children. why do women have to be the ones that do this? why cant men? why do women have to take care of crying babies? why do you want women to do everything? women in our America now are now starting to take role of men if you haven't noticed. does that make you happy? you are complaining against nature. grow a vagina if you have a problem with being a man. also a lot of men wouldn't want women working in the fields but to stay inside and do housework... like I said nowadays in America women are doing both.(working and bearing and taking care of children ) but im sure most men wouldn't take the role of a women because they have too much pride. when you get older maybe you will understand....

    DREK:

I wasn't saying that you either be a farmer or go to college I was just saying you have a choice in life whether it is to go to college or whatever. im saying no one is forcing you to be a farmer or do anything in life. your life is up to you!. :) you can work elsewhere whether its with a degree or not.im getting a rotc scholarship to help pay for my college aswell.... life is what you make it. anything is possible basically...
