i want dogs in schools who is with me?

So here is why.

Today after being 1 Minuet late, mainly because the crossing gard was not there and the line was backed up.... So my 2nd grade son had to singe in. I sat in the office as he did. (already in the school) Then as I do every day I walked him to class. After passing 5-10 kids they then ask me to go back and signed in. Ummm Why not ask me when I was there. No they yell it at me like I already knew they changed policy's today.

Well here we go for why dogs in school

1 they can smell guns

2 they WILL Attack mrs Smith may not shoot her gun you want her to have

3 Bad guys ARE scared of them

Ever watch cops you will see them yelling "I have a gun get out here" and nothing

then they say "I will send the dogs" and perp comes out.

4 a kid can't get a hold of a dog and kill their best friend

5 They are watching at all moments doing their jobs not texting

6 Kids are not scare of them. (well they shouldn't be and can be taught not to be)

7 You cant accidental hit a kid with a dog they will not Attack a kid unless they have a gun (if that is their training)

What do you think! I am not kidding I do want this it just makes more sense and not as many holes as putting guns in little old teachers hands. Think of your kindergarten teacher could she shoot a .45 with out hurting her self.

Update:

I do know this can have bad parts to it. BUT I keep seeing people wanting guns in untrained teachers hands. Most of the teachers could not and may not want to handel a gun. Some are older and the recoil would harm them more than the Gun man.

Kids need to learn how to confront animals and a K9 officer in the building can teach them which is another good point less dog attacks caused by kids that do not know how to approach a pooch.

You'd need a trained dog and its handler present at all times at the gate; and I think that's a good idea except the psycho might shoot the dog and the handler.

What's needed is a ticket turnstile that can't be jumped and an airport scanner that everyone has to go past. No good having fingerprint or iris scanners because literally anyone can go crazy in the head.

It would take half an hour longer to get into school and would cost millions. Nobody would vote for it in local taxes because they'd rather keep the money for vacations etc.

Even here in the UK where we have strict gun laws, we still get school shootings. Our general fatalities to gun crime are about 100x lower than in the US though. Just saying... the bad guys will still get guns somehow even if the law says they can't.

This can only bring a 'Minority Report' style world closer. Lock up and treat the loonies before they murder kids is what that means. You can probably tell by the age of six if someone is a psycho.

a million) A small mutt. blended with 2 or extra small breeds. 2) because you're paying a good number of money for a mutt from a breeder. those "breeders" do not recognize what they're doing, do not care about their dogs's health, and are in common words including to the overpopulation difficulty. you should fairly get a gorgeous dogs from a guard without paying a good number of money and saving a existence. 3) through going and checking them out. Are their dogs satisfied? Is the position sparkling? Do they study about the breed? Are they attempting to extra proper the breed? Do they educate their dogs? Did they get all the genetic health exams finished on the pups and fogeys? Are they AKC (or different) registered? Can they help you %. a pup out of the muddle that should be reliable for you? Can they prepare you on the thanks to guard the breed? All those questions favor to be spoke back suitable.

you'd need a TRAINED handler also in school to work with the dogs. Dogs wont automatically just attack or sniff out a firearm. Its also quite costly to raise and train a dog for protection work- and very few dogs have what it takes for that kind of work.

I seen a suggestion on facebook recently.. we have many unemployed military veterans (many still quite young enough to handle a fire arm).. why not put a few of them in each school to protect? Im sure many of them would LOVE to have a job protecting children.

Teachers can also be trained to handle a firearm. Even if they dont all want a fire arm, having a few trained teachers in the school with a weapon is better than nothing.

I do believe you are on to something great. An excellent idea. A dog to protect the children in school from evil people who intend to do harm. It's the best idea I have heard. I have read many articles about gun control. Criminals don't give a crap about legal rights to have firearms. If someone wants to go into a school and kill 20 children and 6 adults plus his own mother gun control will not stop him. You are right also about kids learning about dogs too. The dog or dogs will teach the kids that have never been lucky to be around dogs how absolutely wonderful they are. Our children should be safe in school. No schools are safe from evil as everyone in the world learned last Friday. Dogs to protect our children in school would make me feel 100% better.

I doubt this is going to make any significant difference. Why put a dog in to be a target because surely anybody who is basically unhinged, isn't going to be put off by a dog.....

No, it's far more basic than this. We do have guns on the streets in the UK these days, but we don't have/need 'safe rooms' in our schools - that should tell you something.

That would be awesome.. But I am still in fantasy land and want my dog at school, lol.

Yes a police dog would be a great idea.

That is a good idea. Dogs are awesome and can be used for a lot. They put others before themselves and are always caring and loyal. Most kids would enjoy them also.
