Is there a difference between ground ham and ground pork?

I have a recipe that calls for ground ham or ham loaf (I have never heard of either). I have heard of ground pork...is there a difference?

Ham has been smoked....ground pork is just that...fresh pork which has been ground. Ham has no fat and ground pork is very fatty.

You can easily make ground ham by taking a slice of ham and grinding it up with a meat grinder or food processor.

ham is cured, which is a cooking process basically, and ground ham has a very much different taste and texture. Ground pork however is just ground pork, it's raw and uncooked with no flavors at all.
