Do you agree with this way of motivating people?

If you're hesitant to click a link, I understand. This link was shared on the facebook of lyricist and musician Brent Black, also known as brentalfloss (look him up on youtube, he's hilarious!)

But back to the point-- do you think there are better ways to motivate people than being mean? Or do you think the mean approach works the best for you?

In the link, I found the article to be very motivating in its "act now, or suck it up" kind of mentality. Do you think this is the best way to motivate people? Does it motivate you?

    historically speaking, their is no better motivator than the whip or the gun so I'm not sure what your actual question is. If I point a gun or a sword in your face, will you do what I say? I bet you will, unless you pull off some sweet ninja skills and take the gun out of my hand. I think you ought to rephrase the question. End of line.
