Do you think that sitcoms would still be funny if there was no canned laughter?

You know how when something funny happens and they have the audience laugh? If that wasn't there do you think it would be awkward?

I find it a little annoying, it sounds so fake and there's more often than not always some person who laughs unnecessarily loudly at things that aren't that funny...But on the other hand I guess the laughter itself can be funny.

What do you think?

    Yes, they're more natural. They make you laugh when you genuinely think its funny.

    No. It was already tried. Don't remember what show but it was a critical disaster.
