Why are overweight women treated worse then overweight men?

women are judged by society by the way she looks and has to prove her worth in everything she does. this is unfair because too much weight does not define a woman's personality, morals and goals in life. obesity can be caused by a number of reasons but immature people assume women are eating like pigs. trouble is, these same people don't assume that overweight men are putting their health at risk too. i've seen quite a few docos on tv about morbidly obese men who can't move, they lose a lot of weight, find love somehow and are applauded for being so brave. if the doco was about an overweight woman then she'd be blamed for getting like that and stopped from leading a normal life and finding love.

Overweight men are actually treated worse in first world countries. Men, in general, are being treated a bit unfairly in first world countries.

The appearance of women is criticized more than that of men simply because men care more about physical appearance than women. I happen to be turned on by women that are a bit overweight.

Trust me, overweight guys get picked on plenty. Please don't act like the media is any kind of reflection of the things overweight individuals have to endure in life. Not being shown people who look like you in the movies IS NOT a serious problem.

Really? Is that how the majority thinks? I always felt that overweight men were disgusting, whereas overweight women could still be beautiful. ._.

For years women aspired to be super model skinny and now that we've (women) realized how ridiculous it is to aim for we've (women) have once again become comfortable with our bodies. However the saying sex sells is still very true and men still fantasize about the size 2 model with big boobs.

Because women will accept fat men and other men will accept fat men. Although other women will accept fat women, men won't accept fat women and men are who run the show.

Because a lot of men think that the only value a woman has is her sexual value. If that is gone then she has no reason to live in their minds.

Double standards.

Women are valued more for their looks, men for their achievements.

The same reason men without jobs are called bums and they are ridiculed, while women without jobs are called housewives and they are praised.
