In 'street' craps, is gameplay clockwise?
..
I am composing a story about a friendly game of street craps where the players all know each other. I introduce a new player who is itching to shoot.
When does the new player get to shoot? Does the new player have to wait for all other players in the sequence to 'crap out'?
Under what circumstance might the players make an exception, say if the new player is a celebrity?
Give me your most down-and-dirty answer for the ten points.

Good morning tj,
I hope your morning started off okay. You have really come to the wrong play to ask a question about shooting dice in the streets. These people are book gamblers, not street gamblers/hustlers.
Three years ago I made to bet with a friend, Don, about the knowledge of the people who answer questions about shooting street craps on Yahoo Answers. Don lost the bet. Going from your answers, I see nothing has changed. The link with the bet with Don and wrong answers is posted below. It will verify what I am talking about.

I also do not understand what you mean “Give me your most down-and-dirty answer for the ten points?” I hope “down-and-dirty” means the TRUE answer because that is what you are going to get.
I grew up in the projects for GI’s returning from WWII. The summer nights were very hot and there were only a few televisions. We played cards with the grown-ups all night. As a kid, you loved to beat the adults. We played Dirty hearts, Bid Whist, hi low and Pinochle all night. Me and my brother at age 6 and 8 were the best. I could count, remember card suits, and handle a deck of cards like a fine woman. We gambled for marbles when shooting dice with other kids.
I got very luck in life. I landed a union job with the I.L.W.U...I became a Longshoreman. I made big money for a 19 year old kid. The men had no limit poker games. I was playing poker at least three times a week. I have watched hundreds (100’s) of men gamble away their whole pay check on horses, poker, pool, or dice. I would loan out money to horse players….born losers. I have watched or shot more street dice, shot more pool, and played more poker/cards on the docks of San Pedro in one week than most people play in years. I have watched men shoot dice ALL DAY. I have watched poker games go on all WEEKEND many times.
Later, I was drafted into the army. We played poker and Hi-Lo, or Ace-Duce, or In-between. I always knew which cards were still in the deck. The money was double for dice games.
I mailed home a lot of money from Vietnam. They almost did not let me out of the army. They claimed I made the money from illegal activities.
I have written these details because it will give you more ammo/knowledge and hopefully you can incorporate them in your story.
THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTIONS:
There is NO order in a street crap game. New shooters do not line up clockwise or at the end of the circle or line if shooting against a wall. A new shooter would pop/fill in wherever he can and wait his turn. The sequence is usually by name and facial recognition, “You shoot after him.”
I don’t care if the new shooter had ants in his pants (itching to shoot) he was a big time politician, a Captain (Army), or a movie celebrity. He/she would not be allowed to break into the sequence of the group or take another shooter’s turn. The word would be “Wait your turn. You shoot after Pete, Tim, that man, or whoever is last.”
Your question: “Under what circumstance might the players make an exception?” Only on a few occasions have I seen things change; If the new player pulled out a HUGE bankroll. Enough of a bankroll to make ALL eyes turn. Most likely in this case, no one will say No, “LET HIM SHOOT” would be the cry from one, two, or three. You would also probably hear other words, “You cannot buy this game. You’re faded (bet covered), shoot big money!”
You and your family have a beautiful day. Peace, from Los Angeles.

I could give a crap about the 10 points. Just ask a question and folks will give you answers. 90% of people who talk about the 10 points never end up choosing a "Best Answer" anyway.
If you're composing a story, just use some imagination! Yeah - they usually go clockwise. So what? It's your story. I imagine if a celebrity walked up to play street craps, the boyz would gladly hand over the dice.
***EDIT***
Pompous much, Ronald? Holy crap that was a whole lot of hoo-ey for what turned out to be very little said. And it's street craps. You really think they wouldn't make an exception if a celebrity walked up to the game?
Yeah - you know much more about the game than other folks. Still, this question is about creating a story. Perhaps I got the clockwise thing wrong. Still, you're just a bit pompous about the whole thing, and a bit long-winded to say not very much.

Well the rumor is they date the bad boys and marry the good boys. personally i don't like that. if i' going to be with a woman i want her to like me for me and not because shes' all worn out from the assholes treating her like crap. i'm a nice guy.. i've finished last for the past 8 years. at 27 i'm about out of tries. It's valentine's day and i'm going out to the bar alone. Probably not the best idea, but while the girls are all out with their "bad boys" i'll be there being good and just trying to forget about my love life before i pull the trigger. What a shitty day.
