Saying that we have a Revenue Problem is just a rationalization of the fact that we can't afford ourselves.

The idea is to intimidate or otherwise impoverish the Private Sector. The sole beneficiary of all this is the State. The poor will still be poor, only there will be more of them.

We as a country need to understand that the Government will never make you as rich as you neighbor, and that they can only make your neighbor as poor as you.

They need to do more to fix the deficit on both sides of the equation, but the answer to your exact question is that bringing in more revenue will cover part of the amount needed. Now they just need to figure out what to do about the rest of that amount. It's better than doing nothing, but it can't stop there.

Any extra revenue we take in now is money we don't have to take in later. The same question could be asked about any deficit reduction measures that don't immediately close the deficit gap, including the Ryan Budget (which IIRC doesn't balance the budget until 2030 or so).

Well, lets look at the sequestering that got the original tax breaks truly in motion & how democratic that process was before you bring up the subject of being "robbed".

Simply allowing the capital gains tax to go back where it should be will bring in $464 billion dollars between 2013 and 2015.

Because if he goes through with it, everyone will feel safer. Leaving out the fact, of course, that even increasing taxes on the most wealthy 10% wouldn't even come close to fixing the deficit.

Because that 2 percent own 90% of the wealth in the nation.

Yes,we do and neither seems to have any grand ideas for fixing it ...but the 650 bill military budget passed unanimously for the world police program.

We have a 'revenue' problem, like Custer had an 'ammunition' problem.
