How can I lose weight?

I'm getting married in 13 months and need to lose weight. I have a gym membership, but I need some sort of diet guide... I've looked online and all the information is just overwhelming. I want to lose at least 30 pounds but considering I'm a student... I don't really have the budget for a personal trainer or a complete organic diet. My fiance is about the size of a toothpick and can eat whatever he wants which makes it even harder to stay motivated on a diet. I need something simple and affordable. Some suggestions of diet books or inexpensive diet programs would be great, please help!!

    Meal 1. 1/3 c of oatmeal with 1/4 blur berries and 4 egg whites

    Meal 2. 4 oz chicken and broccoli 1/2 sweet potato

    Meal 3. 4 oz of chicken or fish and veggies

    Meal 4. 4 oz of chicken or fish and veggies

    Meals should be 3 hours apart and exact.

    If your still hungry eat a salad or some veggies

    Watch your carb intake. It's beat to stick to around 40g of carbs. As the day gets closer you'll wanna eliminate all carbs. They cause bloating and excess water weight. The last week or so you could take expel. It's a water pill that helps you lose excess water weight.

    Seriously, do you know how many people ask this question? Before you ask and waste points, just search in the "What are you looking for" box. You may think you're unique, but trust me, someone else has the exact same problem as you. "Oh I need to lose weight in 4 days" "I have a slow metabolism how can i lose weight".
