For anyone that is NOT Christian...?

Does your religion (or lack thereof) have an end of the world scenario? If so, is it similar to the Christian belief that the world will be at war, natural disasters, famine, and disease, and an eventual complete baptism by fire will occur? Or is it very different? Or do you believe the world will go on indefinitely?

Update:

I've heard mostly from Atheists of those claiming to believe in God but not in a particular reason. I am sincerely interested in what others believe....Hindu, Muslim, Jews, any other organized religion. Are your prophecies similar, different, or is this scenario not even a part of your religion.

Most major religions have some sort of end of the world, apocalyptic scenario. Hard to convert the masses without an incentive.

Curiously, even the scientific "end of the world" isn't too dissimilar (earth being consumed by fire as the sun expands), I'd imagine we probably assume that humanity as we know it simply won't exist at that stage.

I was brought up as a Catholic. But I do not want to be known from a certain religion.

I believe in God etc but I do not believe in the bible. I do not believe that ANY planet will last forever.

There are many ways in which a single planet can die out and its pretty impossible to tell how a world will end. Personally, I think one day the sun will expand and the world will get roasted.

I think this planet has many millinems (sorry about spelling) to go before dying. I dont believe

the world will end any time soon but then again anything is possible but its not something I'm worried about. There is nothing that can be done and I do not fear death. I dont want to live here forever. :)

I am Catholic but as far as I am concerned I have no religion. I believe in God, that is all.

I can't speak for all non-believers, as about the only thing all of them have in common is the stance that they have not been convinced by any theistic claims. That being said, I think that the manner of thinking which leads one to that position should give a strong clue as to what our general opinion on end times stuff might be.

There is no evidence anywhere the world will end on any particular date which will prove important to humans. We know earth will one day cease to exist, but it won't be by a stampede of unicorns and angels fighting against satan. It will be because our sun will go the way of so many other stars and burn our planet to a crisp. This will not happen for billions of years. Until we have evidence to believe otherwise, we won't believe otherwise.

Yes, the end of the world is most likely to be in about 5 billion years when the sun starts to run out of energy and expands to swallow the earth.

The world is within us. It's in our belly region. It begins and it ends. The Earth is forever, but the world isn't forever. That's why Jehovah is the God of the worlds plural and not only God of the Earth.
