Why am I always so hard on myself?

It prevents me from being happy and a more pleasant person. Always feel I can do better, work harder, love more, nothing is ever enough and I frustrate byself. My mind always running to improve and do better -

understand one thing buddy.. you need not over do it.. just take happiness and sadness in equal proportion.. work and relaxing in equal proportion.. your mind always runs to improve and that's a very good thing.. its because when ever you do some work, you do it in such a way that you get satisfied before satisfying your customer.. well, that's good but you need not over do it when a little of it get things done for you.. got it?

all the very best.. be yourself.. you rock!!

I can be like that. Right up to when I was giving birth I kept saying how badly I was doing. Even though I pushed her out in just under half an hour with only gas and air!

Do you have parents with very high standards? Perhaps they pushed you so much that when you were younger you thought nothing would ever be good enough? Or perhaps even your parents are a bit too laid back? And you dont want to end up like them?

I would say you probably look at other people and concentrate on all their positive aspects. For example someone who is more successful than you and you think 'I want to be better than that' or someone who has got a better phone or house.

Perhaps you fail to see others who have 'less' than you. So you only compare yourself to people you look up to.

I don't see this a a bad trait, I think it is an evolutionary thing and it stems back to Darwins 'survival of the fittest'. You will succeed if your so driven and motivated so good on you!

I wouldn't let it get you down though and I wouldn't be so harsh on yourself either. Try not to compare yourself to others. This is easily managed if you set your OWN goals and targets.

Your kind of personality will thrive in a sales environment btw which is commission driven. You should look into it and see how well you do.

    Good luck! :)

....Because you're a perfectionist. You need to realise life's steps should be taken one at a time.
