How can I tell the difference between Whippet and Italian Greyhound PUPPIES?

So, I know there is a question about the difference between these two dog breeds here already, but what I want to know is how can I tell the difference between the these two dog breeds when they are PUPPIES.

I would like to get an Italian Greyhound but I don't want to confuse it with the Whippet since they look quite similar. I just think it's best that I myself can tell the difference between them and be sure that I bring an Italian Greyhound home and not a Whippet. If someone can help me with that I'd be very grateful.

(no, I will not buy it from a shop. most likely I will look for a breeder though I'm not sure I can find a reputable one here)

If you buy from a pet shop there would be absolutely no way to tell- since they all come from gross puppy mills anyway.

You shouldn't expect to find a reputable breeder right around the corner. If you want a pure bred/well bred puppy you will have to be willing to travel to pick him/her up. Do your research and find the best breeder possible, this could mean driving a couple hours or a couple states away but it will be worth it if you really care about getting the right dog. The last pure bred dog I got I drove from Maryland to a upstate NY twice, one to meet the litter and be evaluated by the breeder and then again to pick the puppy up when she was old enough. She was $1,200 plus the cost of travel ect but she was worth every penny.

You will trust the breeder and you will see the mother and photos of the father.

First find a reputable breeder. If you are unsure how to do this, go to AKC.org fore more info.

If you go to a responsible breeder there will not be a question.
