What is your opinion about freedom?

Well I am supposed to write an essay about freedom describing my own point of view

but.....

The problem is here that I still don't have a clear definition for the term"freedom"

I need to know some of ur explanations

So would U tell me what U think freedom is???

What does it include??

When could we surely say that we have freedom??

Freedom comes in different stages of life but with those freedoms come responsibilities consider, a young child in not allowed to play out side the house until he’s learned to be responsible and stay out of the street, as a young person is not allowed to drive until they are responsible to follow the law, at some point while a person is old enough to drive, eventually it might be they should give up that right (being responsible) because they know they can no longer do it safely. So freedom always comes with responsibilities and freedom with out is negligence.

Freedom is a much over used word ,I will argue that it does not exist in the mind of a civilised man, The general sense of freedom revoles around the idea of doing whatever you want whereas a simple examination of the ethic "Do unto others"brings into play the fact that a civilised man is governed Sartre for example writes "There is no problem so big that I can not walk away from it"His friend Camus in his book "The Outsider"has the main character walk along the beach one day when he comes across a stranger sun baking who he shoots dead, no reason!!he just felt like it This is supposed to be an explanation of existentialism The sort of freedom which Nietzsche is talking about in his concept of Beyond Good and Evil where he argues we can make up our own mind about what is right or wrong .In philosophy you will come across many people who say right and wrong is just a matter of opinion indeed the actions of those bankers who caused the break down of the finance system that caused so much trouble for so many is exactly what Sartre Camus and Nietzsche would allow based on the idea you can do what you want Cicero wrote "That there is nothing so stupid that some philosopher has not said it Freedom No even if the government broke down and there were no police I doubt if you would do bad things therefore you are not free and that is a good thing

Freedom does not exist in any country even in the civilized countries like the USA because you are not free to kill people.

MY opinion about freedom is being able to control your life and do what makes you happy. It's a really hard yet simple to be free. Most people think that freedom is the freedom that your country gives you.

Freedom is the "freedom to succeed AND the freedom to fail". Freedom includes personally accepting responsibility for either outcome. This scares most people. Most people are willing to trade freedom (personal responsibility) for "safety". Unfortunately, safety is an illusion.

    Best wishes and good luck.

Freedom is the ability to make a personal choice. In America we have more freedoms than most but still we limit our choices with financial obligations that become social controls but it is our egoic minds that truly imprison us to our illusions of grandeur.

The paradox is that our freedom is greatest when we are in service to others. When our contributions are also our bliss we all become winners.

Bottom line: Mostly being "left alone" by government. And, especially re:

    Excessive taxation and regulation.

    Monitoring (vs Privacy).

Freedom of the Press and Assembly (and Right to Travel).

    Source(s): Constitutional Law studies.
