We're Still here? What's Next?

OK the "It's 2012 and we're all gonna die" is past. What's the new "_______ and we're all gonna die"?

Plus what have the 2012 pundents, publishers, prophets, and producers (Discovery and History channels) going to explains this? Will it be "Hey the new dates is..." or will they just be off on their next scam. Certainly none will say "Dude I was just so wrong. My bad."

Finally, has anyone learned from this debacle? Will Will we debunk the next disaster or will we just believe the next scam?

I've lived through several of these things. Last year it was the rapture. Nostradamus, witch predictions, Mayans, comets, Christians, Millenium, I can't really remember them all. I'd guess "its 2013 and we're all going to die"

The pundits will walk away from it. They always do. A slight miscalculation,

Some will learn, some of the youngsters that haven't previously experienced these things over and over.

The real stirrers though are the media. They are the irresponsible. Irresponsible sensationalist journalists.

EDIT. Lets not forget all of those religions including Christianity that have exploited this sort of fear for many centuries with their apocalypse predictions. Despicable.

The end of one cycle and the beginning of another is starting. Like the sun coming up, a new age is beginning, but that doesn't mean we will notice something anymore than you notice the end on a Saturday at midnight and the beginn9ng of the next week on Sunday A.M.

The Mayans I met when I was at Chichen Itza ys didn'tthink it would be the end of the world, but the end of a cycle.and the beginning of a new one, according to a measurement that would not be noticable except if you look up into the sky. The Equinoxes and the changes will only be noticed by astronomers qwho obser4ve the skies, so don't think they made a mistake about some noticable astronomical event.

The Mayan people I met and spoke with said they didn't believe there were any Aliens telling them this stuff, it was their ancestors, who had to suffer the destruction when the asteroid landed in the Yucatan Peninsula so long ago.

I spent a little time with Myan people, a short and nearly hairless people (except on their heads) who are very nice people, simple and not bad or good, no better or worse than people anywhere else.

They long ago suffered through droughts and subsequent famines requi9reing them to keep down their populations by human sacrifice, on to of their pyramids. Well, they didn't have birth control.

Whats next? A new age, with the planets continuing on. Nothing is constant- except change!

    Don't worry. Be happy!

I think it is a characteristic of the human mind - some, anyway. We still have Anthropogenic Climate Change, super-volcanoes, the Big One, asteroids, killer bees, bee die-off (takes care of the killer bees!), ozone depletion, and the fellow with the switchblade knife. The scaremongers could afford to say "I missed that one" but not "I missed them all."

Even Wyatt Earp died at home at the age of 80. Since each of us lasts at best a century or so it seems like a waste of psychic energy. Or maybe it is just entertainment.

    The near-Earth asteroid 99942 Apophis!!!

(This one is not for a while, though. April 13, 2036 to be exact.)

Butttttt the chances of it hitting us are 1 in 250,000, so don't get your hopes up doomsday lovers lol.

People will find another imminent doomsday scenario to free them from the mundane and monotonous everyday routine of life - comets, asteroids, aliens, scriptural prophecies, etc. all generate sensationalism and potentially, a steady revenue!

They're only people. NO ONE knows when the world will end. So don't believe everything you read dude. Like on the bible says that no one, not even the angels or Son himself will know when the end of the world will happen. Only the father God himself.... If you're not religious to believe this, than you're at a lost and will continue to believe what people say. (8
