Why not tax the rich more?

Obama's opponents won't allow it.

It was something Obama was proposing along with an economic expert.

Income doesn't equal Wealth

Warren Buffet for most of his career had an income of $1/yr

Bill Gates made less than $500,000 per yr

People that earn more already pay more in both amount paid and in percentage of income paid in taxes

Truly wealthy people pay capital gains which is taxed at a lower rate since the money used to purchase the capital was at some point in the past taxed as income

Because this is America. We don't need class warfare. If they pay more they can call the shots. Also why should we punish success?

If we had the fair tax this would eliminate all corner cutting, working for cash, and it would run smoother. Look it up.

How much would you like to tax them? 100% enough? If they did that everyone making over $500k it would only bring in about $1 Trillion. That doesn't even cover ObamaClause's debt for one year.

There are 200 million taxpayers in this country, and half of them pay no tax at all. I think everyone could afford just $100, don't you? That would bring in $1 Billion. Isn't that fair?

They already pay a higher rate which means that they pay more.

Why does the government deserve to loot more of their earnings? What did government do to get in their good graces? And if government is in good graces, shouldn't non-taxpayers like you do something to produce to the "greater good" that is the government?
