Royal purple seeks warmth and the engine runs just a bit cooler, due to its additives. So, i use Royal pink for the period of the summer time and Castrol Syntec in the winter. The fee of Royal red has steadily come down, so it makes economic feel to make use of it. When Mobil 1 used to be very costly (in the 90's) relative to traditional motor oil, many individuals did not change to Mobil 1. Mobil 1 has transformed their advertising to make Mobil 1 more cheap. Amsol (individually) has neglected the mass market by way of preserving their product off the shelves of car section shops. It may be too late, as the substitute oil market has reached 50% of the motor oil market. See for your self. Go to your regional Auto phase store and you can see that half the cabinets are synthetic now.

the best oil for a older car is chevron it has the highest detergent meaning it will clean the dirt out of your engine as far as using synthetic oil i don't like them because they find a way out so a car that didn't leak before will after you use them and once you have a leak its hard to fix it sometimes you will have to pull the engine to fix a leak something they don't tell you on the bottle
