If god has a plan for everyone, why bother giving him free will?

Seems like having an appendix. Completely useless if all is determined.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

It has been a choice since Adam and Eve and it is still a choice till this day.

Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Luke 9: 54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.

I Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

    Peace in Jesus name.

God has a plan for everyone in the sense that he has already (6,000 years ago) prophecied since Adam and Even sinned, that he will restore his Kingdom with mankind here on earth. (See Revelation 21:2-5). But it does not mean he has our lives pre-determined or that everyone has their destiny already made, not at all.

The Bible says that although we do have free will, we "will reap what we sow." Galatians 6:7-9.

“Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” See 2 Corinthians 9:7.

There will be consequences, good or bad, depending on how we choose to live our lives.

Medicine has come a long way since the turn of the century - the appendix is now known to play an important role in the development of the immune system

God does not have an plan for individuals lives. He has a general plan for the redemption of mankind from the curse of sin. Big difference!

If God exists and has a plan, then we are nothing but tools to him to be used and discarded if and when broken. There is little explanation for why so many people die before ever fulfilling any kind of plan (although to some, the person dying was a plan hence the tools reference). If the price of free will was eternal damnation if I got it wrong then I'd happily give it up, there is no free will in believe me or burn.

We didn't give him free will; he gave us free will.

True God has a plan for everyone and he gave everyone free will to choose whether to

    follow his plan or not.

Have you decided to use the free will he gave you to follow his plan for your life?

Don't let whether you have an appendix or not influence your decision. It won't matter.

He has a plan for anyone and all who give Him their free will. All others are just plain out of luck. I guess it has come to where He only wants those who want to be with Him up there after all. What makes us think that anyone who does not want God is going to have Him? God probably does not want to be around them any more than they want to be around God.

God gives us a free will to see if we will come to Him and have faith in Him or not. Yes He knows everything and yes He has a plan for you, but He doesn't control us. He may have a plan but if you're not willing to see God's hand in your life, then what? For example, God has a plan to prosper you and give you a great marriage and family, but you have a free will to actually make that marriage and family work. God plans for you to be financially sound, but if you flaunt your money on drugs, gambling, sex, and useless things, you're defeating the purpose of your free will and God's plan for you. God has a plan for you, but it only depends on if you will actually see His hand in things and believe in Him and make your decisions in life based soley on Him. Like I said, God wants you to have a nice job, but if you repeatedly make a bad desicion by being late for work because you feel like it, your job might be terminated. God's plan was for you to have a nice job, but you used your free will to destroy that plan. I hope you understand what I mean.

    Who says all is determined?

Nothing in my experience would support complete control.

We have a great deal of freedom, though few make the most of it.

He has a plan, but that doesn't mean you have to let it happen. If you decide to ignore God and go your own way, that's free will, and it also doesn't allow for His plan for you to work.

god has a plan and put choices before us. It is free will if we chose to follow his path or that of the devil.
