Power Supply efficiency rating?

So a bronze with give you 80% efficiency. What does that mean? Is it just how much power it draws from the powerpoint?

Efficiency is how efficient it is at converting AC to DC power.

The less efficient, the more power you will draw at the socket.

So if you need 100W at this time, if your psu was 50% efficient, you would have to draw 150W at the wall, to get 100W to your machine.

So the more efficient, the less power you waste, so less on your power bill.

ALSO when power is wasted, its turned into heat. So the less efficient, the more heat.

Heat damages/wears computer components. So the psu will not last as long, also it will be less capable of giving you the rated power output.
