What do you think the next big theory is going to be from all these american nutters, who thought the world was going to end yesterday?? What do you think they will dream up next ??
I should rephrase my question. I don't mean that all americans are nutters. In fact I am very interested in the American lifestyle. However, most of these theories seem to come out of the USA, but there are a few brits and people in other countries obviously, that believed the world would end. Sorry to offend the "NORMAL" people

You are right JAN, 200 or so years ago some con man called Joseph Smith, somewhere in America came up with what --I---think is one of the biggest cons in modern times.
He supposedly dug up a whole lot of golden tablets that had a new set of commandments from --God. Now, you would think he would hang on to them as they would have been something to see but as usual when anything like this is ''discovered'' it all goes pear shaped and they went missing , lost forever (of course) But, he had time enough to read it all and remember all these new commandments before the pear shaped event of them getting--lost. So off he goes and recruits a whole lot of guys to this new--religion. Which was very bloody easy as it was a religion that said you could have many wives. (remind you of the other bunch with all the wives as a draw card--not to mention a busload of virgins at the end) Anyway, this went down a treat in the days when women were few and far between out West in America.
So--to cut this long but informative story short, it's been 200 years so I reckon we will soon see yet ANOTHER bloke come up with a similar story and as you say , Americans are nuts for all these stories, it will take off like wildfire there as you are right. Americans and stories, UFO's , golden tablets with commandments, end of days etc etc etc and it will of course be a major Hollywood event too as hey, when in America--make a movie of it , --right ?
Of course , it all depends on there being anyone left in America as at the rate they are going it is highly possible they will all shoot each other.

Yeah. Us American's Over Hear Are Preety Stupid. They Will Most Likely Say That The Computers We Build Will Take Over The World Or Something Stupid Like That. Or We'll Find Another Ruin With An "Accurate Calender". I Swear, Sometimes I'm Embarrassed About The People Here.

The 2012 doomsday prediction was a global one and was around for over 1000 years. It did NOT come out from America. Sure it came out from the AMERICAS (the Mayan civilisation is in South America), but not the US.
The 2012 one wasn't predicted by some suburb people (like the Christian guy who made one in 2009).
This was a religious one made a thousand years ago.

When Americans own more guns than cars it will cause the world to go out of balance and on the anniversary of Lincoln’s death, but not until their phone booth is empty, the world will flip 45 degrees
