Friend likes me-Help!?

There is this guy that I have known for my whole life. We have a very... Interesting history. We fight alot but we also have fun together for a long, long time he loved my best friend but just recently he told me he hated me and did not want to be my friend. Two days later he said he had a crush on me, but I like his good friend and his friend likes me back. We both know we like each other and its just a matter of time till he asks me out. My friend keeps sending me depressing emails! I dont know what to do!
