A Radeon 7870 2GB card is a great card and fairly priced! It can can every game maxed out with well over 50 Fps.

Depends on your budget, and your current system.
For 100 dollars, you would look at a 7750 or 650.
For a bit more, you would look at the 7770s or 650 Ti's.
For more than that, you would look at the 7850s, then the 7870s, then the 660's and 660 Ti's.
But that's getting into the over 300 dollar range.
You would also want to check your PSU, as the more beefy the card, the more it needs power-wise.

A lot of that depends on how much are you willing to spend? I'm also assuming that you have a PC vs. a laptop or a Mac. SO, with that little info, I'd go with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 ti @ $200 or the GTX 660 ti @ $280 are close to the top of the line (for Nvidia). I, personally avoid Raedon cards. I've had too many issues with their drivers.
