What were key social issues in the 1960s?

I'm writing a play. One character- a lower middle class white boy living in London in the early 1960s has to be fighting for a cause. I was wondering if anyone knew of any key social issues a teenage boy may protest for during this time?

peace not war - CND; apartheid in South Africa boycotting goods from there - I was a teenage lower class white girl at that time and those were the major issues at that time - also outside the american embassy over vietnam and civil rights-Some lads joined feminist causes - often looking after the kids in the creche - so women could meet.http://www.retrowow.co.uk/retro_britain/retro_brit...

Most of the teenage boys I knew at that time were pretty intent on copping a feel and trying to live up to the 'free love' - 'make love not war era.' The squatting movement started as a political ideal .
