How much of a traffic ticket a fine, and how much is tax???California?

Never looked into it, but someone told me that they got a $25 fine for talking on cell while driving, but with all taxes it ended up being over $100. Is that true/is such a thing even possible???

YES this could very well be possible for this purpose and time in your life.

Check with the court or fine collector in Ca. in order to get your CORRECT answer that you really do need for this purpose they might have some type of a tax added to the fine and the court cost and whatever other fees that they did include in the over 100 amount for using the cell while drivng on the HWY in Ca for that purpose.

Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 12/24/2012

The extra isn't tax. Many if not most states tack various fees onto traffic fines. Yes definitely possible.

Not really taxes. They call them penalty fees:

Good for them. Your friend SHOULD be punished more than just $25.
