Australian shepherd exercise level vs. Golden/Labrador Retriever exercise level?

I'm planning on getting an Aussie puppy and I might be able to exercise it for an hour each day.

My neighbors have a Golden/Labrador Retriever and I know that those are very active, are they as active as Aussies? Because my neighbor just walks her dogs 3x a day down the block and back .... just wanted to ask.

Thx.

Honestly both dogs are about the same size, labrador might be slightly larger. Personally I prefer aussies but keep in mind shedding level

The more you can walk your dog, the better. Also your neighbor might walk her dog more because she does not let it go in the backyard. If you plan on letting your dog use the back yard then you might walk it less. But the more active you can be with your dog the healthier the dog will be. Also if the hour is the only amount you take out your dog, make sure you give it alot of attention!

Since I work with rescue, I've had both Aussies(AKA Australian Shepherd) & Labadors/Golden.

While the the golden/labador mix has less of prey drive,it has less energy. It's the better choice the have around small Childern, genrally with Animals.Since Golden/Labadors are mutts, they are unpredictable in temperment & size/weight/color/coat length. Unless your purchasing one for working purpose(ie:hunting),no reputable breeder breeds mutts. More then likely the Golden/Labador will be unsound,& unstable. If not purchased for working purpose, even then they can still be unsound. BEFORE you ever purchase a mutt make sure the breeder tests the stock for health problems,& makes sure there stable,& sound.I suggest finding one from shelter or rescue.

The Aussie is herding breed while the highly intelligent, they need much exercise. They also have a tendency to nip the heels of Childern & Animals. They will also herd Animals,& People. You can control this trait, but since its genetic it can never be trained. They love to please,& there a good breed to compete with in sports. If your looking to agility, dog docks, freestyle, flyball, frisbee, dock dogs, herding,or most other sports, I'd suggest the Aussie.

ausies are far more active than goldens and labs. You dont have to walk a lab/golden as often as your neighbor does, but an aussie you probably will want to. Aussies are herding dogs so they are built to run and exercise while labs and goldens, while still very athletic dogs, dont require THAT much exercise. That hour of time you have would be perfect for a golden/lab

Please don't get an Aussie if you only have an hour a day to exercise one.

They are dying in shelters at an alarming rate because they had owners who did not satisfy their desire to WORK. An hour is about two hours short.

If you only have an hour, get yourself a nice little furry lap dog.

Please do research on the breed instead of just asking us a few questions
