Can there be two different Operating Systems (XP and Win 8) on the same hard drive?
If not, can you have two hard drives on a Toshiba Laptop computer or a Desktop for that matter? I do not like Win 7 or 8. I like my XP OS. Why did Microsoft fix something that was not broken?

Dual Laptops would be much easier.
If you have just bought a laptop with Windows 8 on it, you may have a problem with trying to dual boot with XP. New hardware does not have any XP drivers. None have been written and none will be written.
To stay with XP you should use an older laptop that has drivers for XP.

Hi,
If there is space for a second hard disk on your laptop, then yes you can go for the second hard disk. Just open your laptop or use the user guide.
In general, you can use two operating systems in a single system. During bootup it will ask for which OS you would like to use for bootup.
But the work consistency is a bit doubtful, when Win 8 is loaded on XP.
But mostly Win 7 is used as a base and then windows 8 is loaded onto it.
