Does my computer have a virus?

It has been running very slowly, no programs are opening (such as google chrome) I have norton antivirus but whenever I try opening it, it doesn't open. My computer was running the day before just fine. It is constantly taking forever to open even the task manager, and when I right click the desktop a message pops up saying Windows Explorer has stopped working. The task bar and all my desktop icons disappear and then reappear. I have tried getting rid of the startup programs but that didn't work, I also tried a system restore but it said "System restore has not completed successfully". I have also tried running in safe mode but none of these have worked. I have a windows 7 PC that I have just gotten a year ago, I still have a bunch of GB left as well. Is this a virus? Is there any solution to this problem?

Its probably a virus. If you can get your hands on a windows 7 boot disk, run it. It will wipe EVERY file on your computer, but it should solve your problem. Also, Norton sucks... Use Trend Micro Titanium. Staples is running a deal on that software. Put in for an instant rebate and you get it for not $80, but a whopping $30. Neat, huh? Also, Wadda **** are you using CHROME for?!?!!?!?!?! You need to download firefox...

    Try this:

Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10. It's primarily designed to boot and disinfect computers that have been rendered unbootable due to an infection, but it's fine to use it on an uninfected machine. The .ISO file is 262MB in size, and it's easier to burn it to a CD/DVD than a flash drive:

If you don't have burning software installed on the working computer, download and install Ashampoo Burning Studio 6. It's free, and I recommend it...I use it myself:

    https://www.ashampoo.com/uk/gbp/pin/0710/0-Offline...

Start up Ashampoo and select Create/Burn Disc Images...then select Burn a CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc from a Disc Image.

Burn the CD or DVD, and use it to boot your problem computer. You may need to enter your BIOS (Setup), and change the boot sequence to boot from CD first, but this isn't always necessary.

When you run it, you should be able to reach a desktop environment where you can use it to scan for infections. Remember to update its malware definitions first.

    Hope this helps.

g*d~~~, ur anti virus is the worse of all, crappy. i had one before like few years back. it did f**ked up my laptop. just use another anti virus like avast the free edition. don't do system restore cuz sometimes it does save the viruses from ur previous restoring. just tunr it off. run a full scan with avast and download malwarebytes too just to be sure.

    hope that helps :)

Its probably a virus if you have no AV in the first place. If its a cracked copy of windows those are some of the system errors you get.
