Wii Rock Band 2 drums with Band Hero?

I picked up some drums for my daughter for Xmas. I told the guy at the store I needed drums for Wii BAND Hero (not Rock Band, although he seemed confused that there was a Band Hero). He told me the drums I bought will work with any of the games. While putting them out tonight, I noticed that the dongle says Rock Band on it. Now I'm concerned since I know Rock Band guitars often do not work with other games. The unit is a NWDMS2 model which I believe is Rock Band 2 edition drums. Does anyone know for certain if these are incompatible or will work with Band Hero (not Rock Band)? I would test them but I really am clueless about the entire system as far as how to make it play. - Thx!

yes, they should. I have used rock band 2 drums on guitar hero Smash hits and Guitar hero 5, so there is no doubt they should work with band hero.

  • I've never played Band Hero personally, but I play Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and my brother used to on the drums. I play guitar with the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock guitar for the Wii, and it works perfectly with every volume of Guitar Hero I own, including Legends of Rock, 5, Smash Hits, and Warriors of Rock, and also with every Rock Band game I own, including 2, 3, LEGO Rock Band, Beatles Rock Band, and the Track Packs. While my brother played drums, they were also compatible with every game we had. I swear on the box, they put "most" just to keep from being sued, but as far as I'm concerned, any Rock Band or Guitar Hero peripheral (except the Pro instruments and keyboard from Rock Band 3) will work with each opposite game. Like I said, I've never played Band Hero, but evidence suggests your chances are pretty good that it's compatible. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be.
