Converting percentage solutions into mg/ml?

I have a sick animal that needs antibiotics.

I have a 15mg tablet that needs to be made into a 2.5% solution.

Can someone please work out how many mls of water I need to add to the crushed 15mg tablet to achieve a 2.5% solution, and show me the workings of this?

Update:

Thank you so much for your quick response and clear explanation. Much appreciated!

    A 2.5% solution means 2.5 GRAMS in 100 ml

This is equivalent to 0.025 g/ml, which is equivalent to 25 mg/ml

If you have 15 mg, you set up the proportion as follows:

    25 mg/1 ml = 15 mg/x ml and x = 15/25 = 0.6 ml

This is the amount of water to add to the 15 mg to get a 2.5% solution

The first step: Divide the numerator via the denominator. (e.G., 3 divided via 7) STEP TWO: you can get a decimal. Move the decimal two locations over to the left. (three/7=0.42, so move the decimal over two locations and get 42) STEP THREE: Put a percentage signal at the finish of the brand new number. (forty two%) performed! Any longer questions about most of these things and just e-mail me! I like this stuff!
