Info needed about ssi and guardians.?

My future wife is 19 same age as me and she has ssi and a guardian that ruined my Christmas. She is forcing her to do things:

"You must be home at a certain time on a certain day."

Grounding her when she doesn't behave.

Treating her like a teenager.

She acts power hungry since I heard her say, "He is trying to make you defy me!" Also, she mistreated her all her life and I am finally tired of this. Please, someone, tell me what you would do for your loved one. Also, can she FORCE her to do these things? Please, someone give me a christmas miracle...

Update:

She does not live with her anymore. She came to visit and is forcing her to do things still. She sometimes refused to give ANY money to her. And she only uses money for things like food and school supplies really. She lives on campus at a college and yes she is both her Payee and Guardian.

Does your wife live with her legal guardian? And are you sure that this person is a legal guardian and not just a payee? A person does not have to be a legal guardian in order for social security to appoint them as a payee for a beneficiary's checks.

If your future wife lives with this person then yes, she needs to follow house rules. Their house; their rules. Pretty simple concept and this would apply whether the person or persons she lives with are her payee/guardian or not.

This is between your future wife and whoever it is who handles her money or lives with or whatever.

This is not your problem. If you and she don't like the house rules then she should find another place to live.

    Newflash!

Your future wife is a teenager.

Your problem has a easy solution.

As soon as you are married you can support her and have her SSI closed.
