Can't take off the battery of laptop (is it essential) ?
I have a sony vaio laptop , the battery cannot be removed easily, it needs a screw driver to do so .. my question is : do I have to take it off? or it's designed to stay with the laptop ?
The laptop before this one , I used to take it out easily, so I'm curios about this one .. is it designed to permanently stay with the laptop until the user decides to take it off or what??
I looked the video up :

That's not a good Youtube link and you don't usually have to take the battery off. The only reasons would be to remove all power in case of a lockup, to change out a bad battery or to put in a spare when the first one runs down.

Removing the battery and storing at 50% and charging it back to 50% when it reaches 15% or so will prolong the life span significantly, only really useful if it's mainly used as a desktop replacement.
If the battery is in a location that heat from the notebook reaches it, no matter the storage condition removing it will prolong life.
But honestly, you don't need to take the battery out. Leaving it in actually benefits you since it acts as a UPS. Leaving it in all the time is no more harmful than keeping it charged 100% if it's not getting warm from nearby components.
