Mascara Smudges under my eyes?
So, I have 3 mascaras, Rimmel Scandal Eyes Show Off, Collistar Infinito and Loreal Volume Million Lashes. While Rimmel is my favorite every day mascara, its quick to apply but it tends to flake and smudge under my eyes within a couple of hours. The other two are more liquid so they do not smudge but tend to clump my lashes together and I have to use a lash comb while using them. Anyone out there experienced this and any solutions for this issue?

Girl, I have the same problem.
But its okay because I have found ways to battle the issues.
First things first, use waterproof mascaras. They definately stay on longer. Also, try to find a mascara that is not too wet or too dry. This will prevent flaking and clumping. My favorite two are bareminerals flawless definition mascara and buxom's mascara because they are just wet enough. Now that we have that out of the way, lets get down to business to defeat the clumps (get it, Mulan referance haha). apply a little bit of translucent powder under the eye before applying mascara. This helps to keep the mascara from smudging. I don't know how it works, but it does. Next, when applying the mascara start at the root of the lashes and then wiggle the wand back and forth as you go to the tip of the lashes. This helps eliminate any clumps and coats every lash perfectly. After applying your mascara, I take a kabuki brush or another really big fluffy brush and the I lightly dip it in powder and dust my lashes. This makes the mascara last longer without flaking or clumping. These steps should help you. I know that after I used these, I was able to apply mascara really well and the results were excellent. Good luck on your endeavor, Miss :)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Buy mascara wands. You know the kidn that they have in Sephora so you can dip it into a mascara and use it without contaminating the wand. They are pretty cheap at ELF. You can get like 10 for a dollar. These actually work better than lash combs because they are actual wands. What I do is that after I apply my mascara, instead of going through with a comb, I just run the CLEAN wands through my lashes. This seperates them and makes it look really good. These are also safer than lash combs because they are wands whereas a lash comb is spikes.
2. If you youtube "Michelle Phan mascara business card trick" the video that comes up shows you how to apply mascara without messing up your eye makeup and coating every lash without clumps. Watch it, it really helps.
3. If you youtube, "Gossmakeupartist mascara" and click the first video, he shows you a new way to apply mascara that absolutely makes your lashes look like heaven.

Maybe the Rimmel one is starting to get old? It could explain why it tends to flake off, but if it did flake when newly purchased it's not the problem... It could be the formula, which you can't do much about :/ If you want it to smudge less you could use powder under your eyes to prevent the smudges. And abut the other two, it could be that the formula / wand doesn't suit you. I have used Loreal Million Lashes and it didn't give me any clumps.

Before you apply liners or shadow below your waterline, use a damp q-tip to clean any possible smudges from the mascara where it touched your skin.
