Is the answer to our problems not ideology but technology?

Most of Washington quibbles about labor and wealth.

If robots did all of our physical labor, the robots would create all of our economic wealth.

A.) Wouldn't that just solve all of our problems at street level (build houses, harvest food, clothe us, etc.)?

B.)And wouldn't that render ideology obsolete?

Capitalism, communism, socialism. Who would care at that point?

That could well concentrate wealth even more at the top, and would, if there were no political forces at work to spread the wealth. Why would the people who owned those machines want to use the wealth to improve the situation for everybody? People who have way more wealth than they can use often do little of that now; why would you expect them to act differently?

I am a technology optimist bro, but I'm also a mankind pessimist. So far, if you look at human history, technology has enabled us to stay one step ahead of slaughtering each other in an Armageddon blood orgy, but ironically has made the Armageddon blood orgy that much more feasible.

If history has taught us anything, it's to be self-reliant. Being too reliant on something - whatever it is - is never the answer. Empires have fallen because they thought like you, don't make their mistake.
