New Laptop for daughter?

Try checking out Best Buy, and looking at lower cost laptops. The 2 laptops I have owned in the last 6 years did not have a built in webcam, and the last 1 I bought was $350 about 2 years ago.

What I do is open up the screen and remove the mic and webcam, they are spying devices that hp/dell/lenovo/what ever corporate brand can activate, if I am going to use a cam or mic you can buy higher qality that are external, I think its odd they push laptops with built in cams and mics, when they should just put a input at the top of your screen for a cam or mic. Then again I question everything that corporations do that and virtualization of rooms with smart phones, we have a bunch of criminals in government and corporations.

Dell makes a Studio 15. this is a 15" system and does not come with a web camera standard. Here is a link to the proucts page.

Just buy one with a webcam and disable the driver for it.

Start

Right click "Computer"

Go to "Properties"

"Device Manager"

Locate the webcam driver and simply un-install it!

sorry, most now have a web cam built in, i agree not everybody needs one but they seem to be built into every one now you can try to have a custom build one made but those are still built on standard builds too.
