Installing a second hard drive?

I just installed a 2nd hard drive to use for storing games on my computer. It's a 1TB Seagate Barracuda. I'm using Seagate DiskWizard and I'm in the initializing options. It's asking me if i want to initialize the disc in MBR or GPT layout. Which do I pick?

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. I'm not sure if that's relevant or not.

Update:

It's not going to be my primary storage device. If more information is required just ask and I'll respond.

Update 2:

So I did it with GPT. How do I get it to show up as a second hard drive? I went into the BIOS and the system is picking it up. It recognizes another storage device but when I go to My Computer it's not there.

You can use either... but the GPT partition table is the newer of the two formats and would be my first choice if I were doing what you are doing.

The MBR partition table has been around much longer and is supported by many more operating systems. However, the GPT format is well supported by Windows 7 64-bit and allows for larger partitions and other improvements over the older MBR.

So either will work... if you want the "latest and greatest" use GPT. Otherwise, you can stick with good old MBR.

Here's some really technical information on the differences between the two types in case you'd like to read up and decide for yourself:

    I hope that helps!

    ***ADDITIONAL INFO***

You need to format the disk in order for it to be visible and usable.

Go to "Control Panel" and then to "System and Security". Look down toward the bottom for the "Administrative Tools" section and you should see a link for "Create and format hard disk partitions".

Once you get into that screen, look for your newly installed disk. Right click on its open space and that should walk you through the process of formatting the drive and assigning it a drive letter so it will be available under "My Computer".

Here's a link to a step-by-step illustrated guide if you should need more help:

Let me know if that works for you...

No. Your new annoyingpersistent won't be formatted and the working gadget won't be detecting it. If the gadget is choosing up thepersistent, it is going to be seen in the time of the BIOS. despite if that is, yet you cant see it once you're on your working gadget, attempt utilising PARTITION MAGIC. that would desire to understand anypersistent and format it utilising the suited record shape. If thepersistent isn't acknowledged via BIOS, then your settings are incorrect someplace.

Just format it, it doesn't matter for the non-system HD.
