Clothing from Animals?
I have some friends who are Vegans. They are vegans primarily due to the way that animals are treated for food and animal products. I question that I have never asked them (not wanting to be rude) is how they contend with the issue of buying stuff that a generally only obtained from animals. Things like leather shoes belts etc. What do vegans do to deal with this?

non-leather. shoes and belts don't have to be made out of leather. There are a lot of vegan shopping sites as well as normal shops that sell cruelty-free shoes and belts etc. Synthetic leather is vegan. Rubber is vegan. Hemp is vegan. Canvas is vegan. There really are a fair few materials that can be used; some are synthetic and some are natural. I've even seen wallets made out of recycled tyres and they're vegan.

Cotton and wood fibres, paper and other synthetics of clothing isn't from animals. Its a bit sad when you have to live in a world where most thing are made off the backs of unhappy unpaid slaves. I'm sure they get cotton or other vegan clothes easy enough. There are cheap vegan shoes online. Belts too and bags. You shouldn't get embarrassed to ask them- fact is most of the things you mention are made from animals like humans, who are artificially bred ( ie the mother is raped) to make an animal body which will make leather for a dumb human to wear. If you can think of a part of that equation that seems fair to you, let me know. Because I don't.
And animals WOULDn't all starve to death and be running around if nobody wore their skins or ate them, they simply wouldn't be Frankenmade in the first place.

Vegans don't use these products.
Maybe what you think are leather shoes and belts are simply good imitation leather.

We buy clothing not made from animals; it's readily available but until one becomes vegan, we don't even think about it.
