liberals and "assault rifles"?

A ar-15 is not an "assault weapon". the definition of a assault rifle is a selective fire (either fully automatic or burst capable) rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine. a ak-47, m-16, and m4 are assault rifles what you see in your local academy store or gun store is not a assault rifle. an ar-15 is a variant of a assault rifle. assault rifles are illegal and in order to own one you need a ffl. anyways an ar-15 is semi automatic which means " each pull on the trigger is ONE SHOT". there is not a difference between this gun and a semi automatic "deer rifle" (which is what i call them in texas). the biggest difference is that an ar-15 looks cooler and has a laser or any other attachment. it shoots at the same rate as many other rifles used for hunting and if you want you can put a scope on that ar-15 and go hunting with it as a ak-47 you can not or atleast if you want the meat you can't. the reason im saying this is because i am sick and tired of liberals using the word assault rifles or fully automatic weapons. THEY ARE CALLED VARIANTS!!!!!!! use the right terminology and stop spreading propaganda to make people think that these weapons are more dangerous then any other rifle used for hunting. agree?

Update:

do you agree that the media and liberals should start calling semi automatic rifles that look like assault rifles variants?

Update 2:

because that web site sells the law enforcement and military edition fully automatic which again requires a ffl. the web site specifically says it sells both editions

Update 3:

i do understand that distinction. and again semi automatic weapons can and are used for deer hunting. i have used them before. hell i used a high point .40 caliber carbine to shoot a deer a couple of weeks ago. and guess what uses the same ammunition as my other rifle and still one trigger pull is one shot.

Update 4:

the children do? did you hear about the school in china where the guy came in and STABBED 22 kids? does this mean we should ban knives too? thats so stupid to say

Actually the phrase (Assault Weapons) was coined by the liberal gun control bigots to make these firearms sound evil, it was picked up by the lame stream liberal media, and was used so often that it because assimilated into our language and used by all.

@ ★Ŕ♡MΛŔƐ★. No, if the dead children really matter they would put a stop these school shooting, not sit around and decide what new gun laws they can add to the over 20,000 gun control laws we already have here in the US. Here is how to put a stop to these school shootings.

Okay, we concede that some of these weapons are not really assault rifles. They look like some assault rifles, though, and do shoot many rounds quickly when using high capacity magazines. People know what they want banned, however, and whatever you want to call them, many people do not want AR-15s, Bushmasters, AK-47s and similar weapons with high capacity magazines out there in the general public. If we call the variants that will just confuse most people. Think up a better term, if you don't like assault rifles.

It is a term used for those that know nothing about firearms. I have seen countless times people saying things like "clips" rather than magazines, I read one persons post saying "multiple bullets per casing", WHAT??? Wouldn't that be a shotgun??? All they believe is what they see on TV. It is the gospel to them.

How many of these people think that "assault rifles" fire faster than any other semi-automatic firearm? I believe most of them think that they are fully auto.

Anyone, with a little practice can take a firearm with a low capacity magazine and fire many many rounds. Or a firearm that is not considered an "assault rifle" that actually uses clips and have a firearm capable of doing all an "assault rifle" can do.

To those that do not know the difference between a clip and a magazine, please become knowledgeable about something before demanding what those of us that do know should be able to own.

Here is something that is completely legal (federal law) that will send all those liberal into conniption:

COMPLETELY LEGAL - if anyone dose not believe so - again become educated before posting.

I agree that the media and liberals should use the right terminology. Maybe conservatives should too. However, it's a little hard, because those who are knowledgeable about guns don't seem to agree among themselves. Some have told me that the term "assault weapon" should never be used at all.

It would be easier to read your question if you used punctuation and capitalization.

This pro gun website says that the ar-15 is an assault rifle. http://www.proguns.com/assaultrifles.asp

The terminology is not what matters. The dead children do.

    I'm not reading your rant.

So, I'll just say this: civilians do not need semi-automatic rifles.

    So what is your question?

@the media? Which media? Who the heck cares what you call you them. No one is trying to take away hunting weapons. You should understand that distinction.
