Have you seen through the looking glass?

This is a personal description of my experience outside of time... (If you catch my drift trying to be discreet)... Care to share your own? Anyone else been there? I know I'm not alone ;D

With pupils dilated red and so sincere

A sudden loss of time was gripping me in fear

Paralyzed I lay, my head clouded in hell

Salvation I did pray, but for the end to come as well

My reflection betrayed me- I am not what I see

My choices failed me and all that I should be

Time is our prison, and egos our tombs

Living life misguided will surely end in doom

Introspection is something that all must experience

to understand how people live life so delirious

With this thought I felt all the weight disappear

No longer trapped in hell impaled upon a spear

I saw the beauty of the world and felt it in my heart

My friends were there for me right from the start

There was nothing left to do but to enjoy the cool moonlight

and wait to see my family for the ones we love we enlight

Trapped in Human form I roamed the known World at the time until the magic a Witch doctor that blessed me at birth with took control and I was able to free myself from a dark prison mortals had forged from evil magics.

My freedom was costly for I let loose a dreaded killer, a dragon named Kaldrinack. Eight legs and three heads I meet this ancient evil in battle more than a thousand years ago on the shores of what is now Africa. Nine days pass with fierce attacks, but I slayed my enemy on the night of the Ninth day.

Aching from battle I drew water from the ocean over me as a blanket and slept for one solid year. I awoke during a huge storm that shaped the continent anew. Free I went about my life in different ways.

I finally shed human form shortly after the Fall of Rome. I had wings and long golden hair that glistened in sun or moon. I could speak any language I wished, had the strength of a thousand men, and dashed into the sky to re-see all that I had seen before and more of what I had never seen at all.

Since then I have witnessed wonders the likes of which few will ever see and done more than any being can in such a small amount of time.

I totally get the message in your poem. Most of us do worry about not having enough time or making the right decisions. And in the midst of all the worries, we fail to see the important things in front of us. However, when the truth dawns upon us, we realize that we have lost the time which we were suppose to cherish. We lose important relationships. So the point is one should live more and worry less. Thinking is necessary but too much of it hazardous.
