neice & her daughter offended by my best advice ...?
Their upset because I told them the reality of owning horses for little kids 2 & 4 ...... I reread my reply to them and it was an honest blunt to the point well thought out reply to their questions .... now they think I'm trying to be above them and starting a family fight thru my sister. Because I didn't say what they wanted to hear .... what's the best way to defuse this without my sister being stuck in the middle of it .... they don't even want to talk to me ..... I'm not giving them any more advice on anything but now what .....................?
Thanks jungle ... guess I'm to mad right now to state the details clear enough ... my neices daughter is 20. They want 2 kid safe horses for under $500. .... they have seen me rescue horses ... a recent one I had for 3 years and was a true gentle old mare that I gave to my nefews kids to ride even tho she lived her days here with me until she got bad enough I had to put her down last feb . ... their mad b ecause I told them what I look for in a horse before I decide if I dare take the chance of putting a little kid on a 1100 lb animal
Hi af ... good to hear your comments ... you found my concerns .... one of my co-workers gave his grandson a horse which kicked the kid in the head ... he's recovering. But will never be the same again & about 250k in medical bills .... I was considering giving them 2 horses I have worked with for several years one is worth 50k & the other about 20k but after the way I was treated 2 days ago that's not going to happen .... @ this point I'm sending them info and stepping back

While there may be ppl in the current economy desperate enuff to sell a kid safe horse for that price it is not too likely - tho I have seen them given away by folks who loved but could not keep and wanted them to have a great home. Maybe just say you are sorry they were upset (that is obviously true) and try next time and there will be a next time bec it is family to word things more gently or refer to a site or dept of ag horse safety program. In the interests of restoring peace and not getting the kids killed or injured maybe give your sis a list of such sites and programs and tell her she can say they may know more about it. Of course you do know that they prolly wanted you to buy and give the horses which is probably how they see what you did for the nephews children. On another note @$200-250 a horse the investment has just stated food, vet bills, farrier, gear....I know you know that but they probably don't. that said the best horse i ever owned cost me $75

Tell them it possible to own horses make up a story about them in horses. They are 4&6 they have imaginations an facts don't mean a thing.

Some men and women simply consider they realize the whole lot and do not must learn up on some thing, I bet. Well, I have no idea in what approach they spoke back to you. Was it a pleasant "no thanks" or used to be it extra disrespectful and imply? Maybe they did not imply to harm your emotions via rejecting your recommendation. Don't get your self labored up approximately it, even supposing it used to be hurtful. Try to permit it move and transfer on. :) I'm definite at a few factor they'll wish your recommendation and support ;)
