In southern Appalachian Ares of us. Shop is consignment crafts to help a ministry hat provides emergency help to people in need. on a tourist and local hwy. Permanent sign permit much to expensive so using weekend only signs and banners on van parked by road. Not getting much traffic. Can do small ads once in a while but most tourists will not see ads till they are in town if then. Need cheap or free ideas to bring people to shop. Thanks

My husband has serious back & leg problems from being struck by a cement truck and did not choose a good lawyer or get a good settlement. Our only income is Social Security (mine is retirement, his disability). We are just over $50 above Medicaid limits. Dr says he needs power chair. can not use manual wheelchair due to arm injury. Only insurance is Medicare. Man who works for power chair co told him Medicare only pays 50%. Is that true - I thought it was normally 80%. Has anyone had experience finding resources to pay for part Medicare does not pay on power chair or scooter?

Looking for others in similar situations for tips, inspiration, venting, asking if my reactions are usual, etc.

This refers to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) mandated access - is that available? It also refers to the attitudes shown and things said by people in leadership and attendees in general. If words are welcoming do actions match words?

Examples: If people are in wheelchairs or on walkers are there things said like if you love the Lord stand up? Or don't just sit there get up and show God you care? Can a wheelchair user get into the restroom? The fellowship hall?? if someone is walking with a cane do people allow them to pass by or not? Do they push them if they don't walk fast enough to suit them? Are there comments like if you had faith you would be healed? If there is welcoming please say what is done/said not just they are welcome. I'm hoping this may help solve a serious problem or at least some of my reaction to the problem. Thank you.

When your spouse is mistreated or denied things because of disability do you get more upset than they do? How do you handle it? My husband has limited walking and sometimes needs a wheel chair. He has some other physical ailments. Again last night we went somewhere that previously had enough slight provision for limited walkers to find that even that was not available. I voiced my feelings to people we know there, not ugly or rude or yelling, actually almost crying because it was something that meant a lot to him and left a written note for the person in charge and have had no response. They are open Sun and the person in charge was there last night and would be there today. Yet they expect our financial support. I am still upset. Thanks for listening.

Have you ever know a cat to eat cracked corn and bird seed? The kitty from next door has been had been hanging around the ground feeder and I thought he was trying for dinner on the wing. Then I noticed that no he is eating the bird seed, not just sampling it chowing down and coming back for more at least 3 times. II have never seen a cat do that in all my years of having cats. Now I know this cat eats well of the finest food in wet and dry and has no lack of anything his person knows he needs or wants. So why and equally important will this hurt him?

We have house plant called a snake plant or mother-in-law tongue. It is several yrs old. All of sudden it has a stalk of blossoms that came up and bloomed over just a couple of days. I've seen and been round plants of this type most of my life and never seen one that blossomed. Is it s unusual as I think it is? Does it need any special care? Will it make seeds?

Now I do not know that this was caused by the Capstar so this is why I am asking. I asked our vet's staff if our older and not well cat could still use advantage and they said yes and also recommended Capstar to immediately kill any adult fleas. She got a lot sicker quickly and died in a few days. She was chronically ill but no where near dying before the Capstar. Wondering if this is coincidental or if others have had a problem and suggesting that this may not be a good thing with a kitty who is not well.

When parents who are said to be undocumented or illegal are arrested and sent out of the country there are sometimes children left behind. I don't know whether ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is not trying to find out if there are kids or if since often the kids are citizens they don't concern themselves with them or if the parents don't bring up having kids or ???. The one phone call rule does not seem to hold for arrests for being undocumented or for ICE actions so parents may not be able to0 let someone know to check on their children. What I do know is that kids 5 and younger are being left here with no provision for their care. Some are young enough so they have no idea where mommie went. Sometimes the ppl who end up with them are very good kind people probably sometimes they are not. What can be done by individuals,by organizations, by authorities? Please pray for these children.

For example I would like to save all "my Documents" and all "My Pictures" and not have to go through and save one document or picture at a time. How can I do that, please?

We rented this car. It malfunctioned causing injury to my husband. Basicly it went from 2-3 mph to much faster without the accelerator being pressed in fact we were stopping. I found some instances of this happening to others on web. Would like to find more. Have you had this happen or can you suggest a web site to search in this?

Just closing the account and going away isn't a real option bec the ministry has had the same email for 10+ yrs and many ppl know it and it is on net many places. I do have a personal Yahoo account but that is not the solution for this problem.

Several times lately I get page can not be accessed even tho hotmail is the office's home page. I also hate the new beta live mail but that is another story. Is this a general problem, something between our computers and hotmail or?? And what can I do to make it work better?

I know I am very sensitive on this because our cat doed because of the pet food poisioning but it really hurts and is offensive to see a great flashing ad for one of the products FDA says killed pets.

A previous tennant of our ofdfice apparently had a stick on window sign. They took the sign but left us a sticky pattern where the sign was that now has dirt blown onto and stuck to it. Windex does not work. 409 does not work, Lysol does not work, sceraping scratches glass but does not move much of the gunk. What will work, please. It looks awful. You can still see the shape of their sogn and even some letters in solid dirt. This mess was there before we came and I had no idea that simple window washing wouldn't fix it when we rented the office. This is the outside big front window. Thank you.

We are part of an all volunteer ministry that helps people in need in the Southeastern corner of Appalachia. There are some local groups of helping agencies but most are not ministries and not volunteer based. It would be good to talk to other ministries doing something similar in other places.

She also snores a lot - not at the same time - but I wonder if it has to do with breathing. She is 5 yr old spayed female and has done this more within the past yr than previously. She seems well, eats well is not alpha cat but can hold her own. It does not seem related to illness so basicly I'm just wondering about a behavior.
