Definitely not. It's one of the most grueling exercises to do.
If you can do it everyday, I can gaurantee you will see the benefits.

No! Jumping rope is a great cardio workout, for all areas of your body; your legs are moving, your torso/abs are working, and your arms are moving too.
Boxers do a lot of jump rope; it helps them tone and workout, and it also helps them to be better on their feet in a match.
