Can a blood test show your having problems with your appendicitis?

I went to the Dr's today because of sharp pain on my lower right adbominal area. (it has been going on for a month now and getting worse) They scheduled a ultra sound for Monday am. He said it could be my appendicitis or a cyst, dull pain that doesnt go away and gets worse like a stabbing pain. Help

Thanks for answering

A blood test may not pinpoint appendicitis, though it might indicate the presence of infection.

Yes if there is an infection it raise your white blood cell count, so it's a tool used to indicate further testing.
