My amp makes a clicking sound?

Whenever I turn up the volume on my amp and my guitar, and I just lightly touch the strings with my fingertips, my amp makes this clicking noise. I thought maybe it was my callouses hitting the strings, but when I use the pads of my fingers and just barely graze the string, there's a click. I don't know why this happens, and I'm afraid something might or has happened to my amp. Could anyone tell me why this is happening? Thanks.

Try reversing the polarity of the amp, and use better quality cables. Make sure you do not plug in the same area where lights are plugged in, as this causes all sorts of noise problems. Also don't use long cables, try to keep the lengths down. This should reduce if not eliminate your problem.

One other thing it could be - You may not have proper grounding inside your guitar electronics. I had that one time on one of my Gibson guitars. You may need to put a grounding wire inside, or the original one may have broken off. I don't remember exactly how it was done, but it was a small fix.
