I changed my last name but photo ID is my maiden name...help!!?
Okay, here's my situation.
I recently changed my last name to my husband's last name. I put my last name as Taylor for my plane ticket and when I went to go change my last name about a week ago for my Driver's License, they said that it would be in the mail anytime within thirty days...the slight problem is that my plane leaves tomorrow. So I am guessing that I use my temporary license (that doesn't have a photo on it but it has my new last name), my old driver's license (that has my picture on it and my old last name) and my marriage license (which shows my husband's last name, proof of marriage and name change). Should I bring something else? Or am I just screwed and can't even go on the plane? My plane leaves at 8 AM tomorrow so an answer before than will be much appreciated. Thank you!

Why don't you call the airline and ask them how to document that you are who you say you are? Or go to their website and see if they answer this sort of question?

Really all you should need is your old license. TSA will generally accept any photo ID that hasn't been expired for more than a year. I had a similar issue last year when I moved to CA in October, went through 3 different temporary licenses before my new one showed up and I didn't end up with my permanent (photo) license in time for my Christmas trip. The old license (a month expired at this point) worked fine. I tried to explain the situation to the TSA agent at the airport and he told me that my license wasn't "expired enough" to be invalid and he didn't even need to see my current non-photo ID.

I would call the airline and tell them if they can change it over the phone. If not, get to the airport early and have the ticket agent help you. Having a different last name on your boarding pass from your driver's license will cause problems at security.

Sara, just call the airline directly and tell them your situation. They will either change it in the computer or pass the note along. Unless they suggest something else, I think all that documentation will be fine. (Honestly, you probably just need your old and new temp. license.) Arrive a little earlier than you normally would, just in case.
Airlines are highly competitive, so they generally offer good customer service. They won't be unreasonable-- they need the business!

i think of it rather is ultimate for kin solidarity. i've got seen hyphenated couples and couples with distinctive final names giving the youngsters hyphenated names. there is often a needed clarification. What i like is the way I found out approximately during a visit to Costa Rica in that the Maiden call is often left interior the spouse's call and the husbands call is used because of the fact the kin call. this provides the deserved admire to the matriarchal kin and keeps babies cohesive. I additionally don't have a topic with the husband taking the spouse's final call. My stress is greater on the cohesiveness of the kin rather then the rights of a determine to maintain their households start call. As they are construction a sparkling kin, they are in a position to call it what ever they want yet is ought to characterize solidarity no longer separation.
