Black Metal/Crust Punk: What band is more hated? Dimmu Borgir or Choking Victim?
I've heard trons of doodoo talked about each band. They seem to inspire hate to each genres purists. I've heard the same arugments from purist of black metal and crust punk. Dimmu Borgir and Choking Victim are bubble gum, teeniebopper, posers of the true genres. Agree or disagree? For the record I like both bands. Choking Victim is ******* awesome.

I don't really know enough about Dimmu Borgir to weigh in.
As for Choking Victim, I ****** love them. They're sound obviously wasn't the same as Antisect or Nausea in every song, but they never really claimed to be like those bands. I remember reading an interview where Stza described Choking Victim as "bubblegum crust". They're not poseurs, they experimented a lot with their sound, dabbled in different genres, actually had fun with it instead of being like a lot of bands from punk subgenres who are too scared to stray from the norm. The music was brilliant and they stuck to their values. I've got respect for Choking Victim.

Dimmu Borgir's later albums are a bit over produced and poppish for black metal standards, though I think Stormblast was a very good black metal album. I'm not a huge fan of the genre though.
