Am I able print on a wireless printer with my non-wireless desktop?

Before I go and purchase a wireless printer (MX892) I would like to know if it would work. I have a wireless router setup, and my desktop (and only) computer is connected to the router through an ethernet cable, the computer has no wireless adapter or card. I want to get rid of the hassle of having a USB cable going all the way across the room as I have with my current printer.

It's still on the network. All you need do is install the printer software on the desktop just like you would all the other devices you want to print with.

    It says:

"This begins with built-in Wi-Fi®1 for printing and scanning virtually anywhere in your home from computers and compatible mobile devices. This also includes AirPrint2, which lets you wirelessly print photos, emails, web pages, documents and more from compatible iPad, iPhone or iPod touch devices to a compatible Canon PIXMA Wireless All-In-One."

I don't know what's not clear in that paragraph. As long as the printer is able to connect to the wireless router, any device that can also connect to the router can use the printer.

The query is how is your wi-fi printer related to the network? If it is hooked up to the router then it's going to had been assigned an IP deal with, you must be equipped to load the printer application to your computer laptop, log in to that IP by way of the community (ie cabled) and the router will connect you to the printer. If the printer is simplest related wirelessly to the computer (and not to the router) then you must be capable to access the printer via the computer via the community, that does imply that if the computer is shutdown then you can not print from the computing device machine.

Yes. As long as they can both talk to the router, they don't need to directly talk to each other.
